The major news in our industry this week is hard to escape. 

 

With majority of the headlines surrounding Meta and their alleged wrongdoings only growing.

Pending lawsuits in an abundance, focused on false advertising - along with privacy concerns.

 

I did some digging and found some alarming accusations. To keep the legals off my back, I must state, that these are allegations - not confirmed facts.  

 

We've heard stories multiple stories from consumers - an offshore team watching along on intimate moments shared, and also some stories that I can't put in writing. 

 

The future of our industry is built on trust. Not just specifications.

 

Now, of course this scandal has made it harder for a lot of industry professionals. What it has done and will continue to do - is open up the industry to decide what kind of future we're actually building. 

 

APAC is precisely where Meta's competitors will be sharpening their knives - figuratively speaking. 

 

The question that is ringing in our ears at the moment - which platform will regulators and consumers trust? 

 

We doubt it will be settled by product specifications alone - it will be settled by who demonstrates genuine respect for users, and who does not.
